Collecting Observations
Now that children have been in your classroom for a few weeks, you may have lots of observation notes scattered about. Get organized now! Observations should be intentional, just like teaching. Plan who, what, when, where and why of taking observational notes. Use post-its, index cards or adhesive labels to jot notes down. At the end of each day, file your notes. Regularly check to make sure you have not neglected to take notes on a child or a developmental area. Being organized now, makes parent conference preparation so much easier.
